As Senior Policy Manager at AlgorithmWatch, Lejla is the contact person for political issues such as platform regulation (at the EU level), in particular the Digital Services Act, and AI in public opinion formation. Before joining AlgorithmWatch, she worked as a consultant for a scientific publishing house and, prior to that, as a policy officer at the European Commission in Brussels. There she dealt with digital research infrastructures, research data, and open science. Lejla studied international relations and political science (M.A.) in Münster and Brussels and completed a six-month study internship in Colombia.
