Tracing the tracers

The project ‘Tracing the tracers. Monitoring and analyzing automated decision-making systems used to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic’ aims at providing a platform through which to continuously update the public on how ADM systems are being used in Europe — and, comparatively, the rest of the world — in response to the SARS-CoV-2 global outbreak.

Read our latetest analysis: Digital vaccine certificates – global patchwork, little transparency. It's the first content published within the scope of the Tracing the Tracers Project. But this is just the beginning...

Soon, this website will become a platform to continuously monitor how automated decision-making (ADM) systems are being deployed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, in Europe and beyond.

It will therefore periodically feature thematic analyses like the one we’re proposing now, on digital vaccine certificates, but also 1) a plethora of news items related to such systems, 2) a repository of useful links (with op-eds, analyses, papers and studies produced from other organisations in the media, academia and civil society), and 3) two in-depth reports detailing the wider picture of ADM in the pandemic, involving our network of researchers dislocated all over Europe.

Readers will also be able to contribute, by flagging news and other content that might be relevant in documenting how this complex and diverse topic will evolve over the course of 2021.
